We can’t all travel the world and hang out in exotic locations for a living. *Sigh* Some of us have to hold down the fort and run the world from our office cubicles. But we can always dream about our next 15 days of leave. And there’s nothing like a little armchair travel when you’re in need of some inspiration. Here, five of our favourite travel bloggers to live vicariously through.
1. Kiersten Rich – The Blonde Abroad
Kisses from Colorado with @loki_the_wolfdog ?? ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• So excited to be in Vail for the #GoProMtnGames! I’m taking over the @GoPro Instagram stories today, so head to their account to watch my experience at the games! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ?: Thanks for capturing the magic @travisburkephotography on the #gopro #hero5
Woke up in #Namibia ? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Spending the next week road-tripping around the Namib Desert with @wildluxe_misha! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Thanks to @roarafrica for organizing our first nights’ sleep under the stars ✨ #sossusvlei #wanderlust #desert #wearetravelgirls
California babe Kiersten has been travelling full-time since she quit her job in corporate finance not too long ago. These days she can be found mostly in a bikini, making her way around the globe, taking breathtaking pictures along the way. PS: she recently moved to Cape Town, having fallen in love with South Africa after visiting over 50 countries around the world!
2. Nicola Easterby – Polkadot Passport
Waking up in Basel to these views at @hotelkrafftbasel ? Definitely not complaining! Although I spent a mere 48 hours in Basel, it didn’t take long to become infatuated with this pretty lil Swiss city. After all, it’s hard not to love a city that is home to world-class art galleries, an old town that looks like it is out of a fairytale and some of the World’s best chocolate! ? ••• PS. I’ve just uploaded my 48-hour guide to Basel to the blog so check the link in my bio to see what I got up to (other than eating excessive amounts of chocolate)! ?
Another moment I thought I would share from 2016 was when I revisited Venice. This photo may encapsulate a romantic moment floating down the Venetian waterways, but the reality wasn’t quite as idyllic. I was in Venice as part of a manic two-week photoshoot for a tour company with a packed out itinerary of 14 hour days, nights spent editing instead of sleeping, jumping around 7 different countries. In this moment, I was sitting in a gondola with six people I just met, trying desperately to get half-decent photo in the mid-day sun. Don’t get me wrong, I adore my job and am so blessed to get to visit so many beautiful places. Wouldn’t trade it for the world. But moments like this can definitely make it look more glamorous than it actually is ?
New Zealander Nicola Easterby is a seriously talented photographer and her Instagram stories feel like video updates from your long-lost best friend. Her blog is full of useful info and tips, not to mention stunning photos.
3. Rosie Thomas – The Londoner
Each of Rosie’s IG pictures is more beautiful than the last. Her fabulous hair and legs for days set against the backdrop of azure Mediterranean waters have us crippled with jealousy, but following along as she island-hops is well worth the ride.
4. Tara Whiteman – Tara Milk Tea
Australian Tara Whiteman’s IG account is all colour, amazing flatlays, incredible travel pics and drool-worthy food shots – we can’t get enough!
5. Bri Emery – Design Love Fest
While she’s not strictly a ‘travel blogger’, Californian Bri Emery’s own travels make her already dreamy IG account even more fun to follow. She has a wardrobe to die for and an eye for pretty things, which she shares frequently on her account.
