Here are all of Zozibini Tunzi’s looks from Miss Universe 2019

Yesterday saw the crowning of our very own Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi, as the official Miss Universe for 2019. Zozibini is the third Miss South Africa to take the crown, after Margaret Gardiner in 1978 and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in 2017 (can we get a whoop, whoop?!). During this year’s competition, she wore so many incredible outfits, including her winning look, that we just had to share them all with you.

Here are our favourite looks that Zozibini wore during her Miss Universe 2019 journey:

A few days before the event, Zozi posted a pic of herself in a hot-pink power suit, with a subtle snake-print, by Warrick Gautier and the caption read: ‘…Here’s to a day of beating Goliath and slaying dragons in heels and a @warrickgautier suit!’

Here she is attending the press conference and crown reveal in a printed dress by Durban-based brand Fabrosanz.

Zozi wearing ‘a wave of South African love’. This was her national look that was revealed last month.

The outfit, designed by Lloyd Kandlin, was named ‘Waves of Love’ and features love letters from men to South African women. The letters also form part of Zozi’s advocacy against gender-based violence as well as the #HeForShe campaign, which aims to create awareness around gender equality.

Looking pretty in an orange gown with a thigh-high slit and puffy shoulders by Juan William Aria for a dinner with the other contestants.

Walking the runway and looking proud to be representing her country and heritage. She was dressed in Biji La Maison de Couture, who custom-designed the Xhosa-inspired gown for the big event:

‘As promised. South Africa, the biggest pride was not only wearing your name across my heart, but having a gown so perfectly designed by @biji_la_maison that represented my heritage on the biggest stage in the universe. You gave me the strength and I felt and continue to feel the love from you … my beloved!’ Zozi captioned the image.

Another Biji La Maison de Couture gown that Zozi wore before the big event, which was inspired by South African minerals:

Looking like a ‘rising phoenix’, as Zozi put it, in a botanical-printed bikini and bright-orange cape on the night of the Miss Universe 2019 reveal:

Miss South Africa was crowned Miss Universe on Sunday in Atlanta after a lavish ceremony filled with glitter and heartfelt speeches about female empowerment. Zozibini Tunzi, 26, finished first ahead of the Puerto Rican and Mexican finalists in a flashy televised event, hosted by American comic turned TV personality Steve Harvey. Tunzi earned cheers during her closing speech, a new segment of the competition, in which she talked about wanting to empower young women to feel confident. “I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me, with my kind of skin and my kind of hair, was never considered to be beautiful,” she said. #ankarainlagos #Ankarastyle #Lagos #Abuja #nigerianstyle #lagosstyle #AbujaFashion #abujastyles #lifestyle #beauty #zozibini #beautypagent #missuniverse

‘Tonight a door was opened, and I could not be more grateful to have been the one to have walked through it. May every little girl who witnessed this moment forever believe in the power of her dreams and may they see their faces reflected in mine. I proudly state my name Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Universe 2019!’

You make us proud, Zozibini.
