Ultrasound Nails Are the Latest and Greatest Trend Among Pregnant Women

Behold: Your mini on a mani

While pregnancy will prompt you to change up your beauty routine entirely (goodbye retinoids!), there’s no shortage of beauty trends that you can still get in on. The latest? Ultrasound nails, and they’re just as cute as the little nugget growing inside!

Sure, it might sound weird to get a photo of an ultrasound painted on your finger nails, but it’s the perfect accessory for baby showers and gender reveals, and it’s exactly what many women are doing to celebrate their bundle of joys.

Some women have even been using the trend as a way to remember their children after lost pregnancies. One woman bravely wrote about her miscarriage on Instagram, stating, ‘I lost all inspiration as I struggled with the grief. I learned how to love him and his brief life and move forward with renewed hope. I love you jelly bean, and seeing you on my nails makes me smile.’

This manicure has been a long time coming. After three years and numerous fertility treatments, my hubby and I finally conceived in April. On May 30, my heart was broken when I found out my baby was no longer living and growing, and he was taken from me the next day. I lost all inspiration as I struggled with the grief. I learned how to love him and his brief life and move forward with renewed hope. I love you jelly bean, and seeing you on my nails makes me smile ❀️ #miscarriage #pregnancyloss #infertility #pregnancyandinfantlossawarenessmonth #onceamotheralwaysamother #angelbaby #ihaveasoninheaven #ultrasound #sonogram #sonogramnails #ultrasoundnails #nailart #idomyownnails #freehandnailart #nailfie #instanails #suckitjamberry

While painting an ultrasound on your own nail sounds pretty difficult, it’s probably no match for the nail tech who typically creates mini mani masterpieces on your tips. But if you’re more of a DIY kind of girl, you could get really crafty and grab a tiny paintbrush (or toothpick!) to try and draw your tiny tot on your nails. Just remember: regardless of how it turns out, it’s the cute thought that counts!
