We had exclusive front-row seats to the local autumn/winter 2015 shows. So what trended at SA Fashion Week? We fill you in on all you need to know.
Blue, from icy pastel blues to strong cobalt blues, was a big feature. It’s definitely a big colour to come for the autumn/winter 2015 season. Designers who featured blue in their collections included Gert-Johan Coetzee, Palse by Paledi, Leigh Schubert and Funduzi by Craig Jacobs.
Asymmetrical cuts and contrasting lengths were all over the runways. Designers, including Black by Black Coffee, Jenevieve Lyons and Wake, showed pieces with contrasting lengths and asymmetrical cuts.

Textures and embellishments are going to be a big trend for autumn/winter 2015. We saw multiple collections featuring loads of fluffy furs and luxuriously embellished fabrics. Designers, such as Kat van Duinen, showed an all-black collection featuring fur, feathers and intricate bead work. Joel Janse van Vuuren showed a contrastingly all-white collection, which revived our dreams of romance and fairy tales with his ruffles and sheer fabrics draped in perfection. Elli-Nicole showed a black collection too, with lots of texture and sheer elements.
