When we heard that Vogue Eyewear had released yet another cutting-edge collection of sunnies, in collaboration with Gigi Hadid (their third to be exact), we just had to get our hands on them!
After finding out that we were heading to the music festival of all music festivals, Coachella, we simply needed to add these head-turning accessories to our Chella wardrobes because LBH, few accessories have the power to completely transform an outfit quite like sunglasses do.
Just like Gigi’s style, the collection is for today’s trendsetters and the girls out there who aren’t afraid to take a bold risk and who are always ready to take on the spotlight!
Co-designed by the model and style icon herself, she took inspiration from the ‘city that never sleeps’ AKA, New York City, and the ‘many moods of the metropolis’ as the muse for these five new styles that pretty much epitomise spring summer 2019’s sunglasses trends.
Scroll down to see how our Senior Fashion and Beauty Editors, Cleo Marcopoulos and Zipho Ntloko, owned the season’s boldest and baddest sunglasses trends, in the form of Gigi Hadid x Vogue Eyewear’s latest collection.
Here Are The Sunglasses Trends Our Editors Hit Coachella In:
1 ‘Motorsport’ Inspired
Visor-shield style shades are huge this season. Celebs like Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj are huge fans of this style, and we can understand why! Their statement-making appeal is real.
2 Sporty & Oversized
A byproduct of the fashion world’s obsession with all things ’80s inspired – large sporty frames are shaking up the eyewear world. Much like the ‘motorsport’ inspired sunnies above, these acted as the perfect dust-shields at Coachella (because, the dust is real in the Colorado desert!).
3 Micro Cat-Eyes
We still can’t get enough of slim cat-eye sunnies that inject sass into any look. Best worn at the tip of your nose, these shades may not protect your face from a sandstorm but they will keep you looking on point.
4 ’90s Rectangular Sunnies
These sunnies merge two trends so perfectly: rectangular sunnies reminiscent of the ’90s, and the ‘partly-framed’ style. This tortoise shell pair are a ‘classic with a twist’ and the subtle embellishment adds a little glitz and glam.
The collection sees a range of bold shades that are the perfect means for you to express your unique style. Not to mention – perfect for festival season!
