The 2019 South African Style Awards went down last night AKA the bougie awards ceremony that celebrates the most stylish peeps in the country.

Our fave celebs and influencers pulled out all the stops as they gathered at Joburg’s bougie Diamond Walk in Sandton City, dressed to the nines. Oh, and did we mention everyone (well neeearly everyone – we see you Lerato and Pearl) wore bold, head-turning red with the theme being ‘shades of red’?

We asked Mihlali to describe her style in three sentences and here is what she said:

‘My style is elegant, edgy, classy and on most days super laid back. I’m all about wearing what I feel comfortable in, what flatters my body and what suits my mood. I believe style is personified, so, do you!

Nomuzi Mabena

Her outfit entailed a bralette, embellished jacket and side-stripe trousers by House Of Velour, finished off with her signature headscarf. She took home the ‘Most Stylish Performing Artist in Music’ award.

We asked Moozlie about the important role style plays in her performance process and here’s what she said:

‘From the beginning of my career, I’ve used my style to set myself apart. For me, my look embodies my mood and it sets the tone night’s show. On stage, people see you before they hear you, so it’s important that you look like you’re about to take it to the top! They gotta see it to believe it.’

Tshepiso Ralehlathe

Model and influencer, Tshepiso, was all about that low-plunge neckline in a simple yet elegant gown with a high-dose of side boob.
