Former COSMO cover star, actress Nomzamo Mbatha, arrived back home in South Africa on Saturday from her most recent jet-setting venture in the states, while filming Coming 2 America.
And, it seems that we weren’t the only ones excited to have her back in the Mother City! On arrival, the iconic bubbly brand, Veuve Clicquot, arranged a customised welcome-home gift for the actress in her room at the Pepper Club Hotel. ‘Let’s toast tomorrow’, Nomzamo said in the caption of an IGTV post where she receives her gift from the Clicquot crew. The gift included a personalised invitation to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Series and this immediately had us thinking, ‘what did she wear?’.
The following day saw the launch of Veuve Clicquot’s Polo Series held at Val de Vie Estate where they announced a few important changes moving into the 2020 polo season, and a variety of experiences that will be taking place up until April 2020. Nomzamo, being invited as a special guest, took the opportunity to dress up for the occasion. Duh.

Those shoes and sequin jacket though…

Here are some moments from the @veuveclicquot Polo series brunch. Such a stunning execution from @valdevieevents and @thereallygreatbrandcompany an awesome welcome home in my favourite City. @patrickjohnleslie almost made my make up crack from all the laughing, seriously one of the best human beings you can meet. Turns out it was @rykneethling birthday too, sharing a day with the President. A toast of the Veuve Rich Rosè with @dewaalhoon1 TRY IT, it’s delicious and a little less sweeter than the brut Rich with gorgeous rose notes. 🌺🥂🍾 If you’re in Cape Town next weekend, check out @valdevieevents for more details on how to experience the Sunday brunch series #VCPoloSeries #LiveClicquot #ClicquotCrew . 📸: @ramiieg
Ok, so that’s not all. Nomzamo attended the Joburg International Film Festival last night in a dress that one could only describe as DROP-DEAD-DREAMY. The dress sees a knit fabric in a bold African print, a super-low-plunge neckline, and one helluva thigh-high leg slit. OFC, it can only be the genius work of local designer, Maxhosa.
Ok so, since Nomzamo’s Polo look is so wearable, we’ve put together a similar outfit you can shop now and wear, like, ASAP.

If you’re wanting to get the exact one she wore, you may need to save up (for a while). It’s very pretty to look at though?
Get that celeb look with a jacket dripping in high-shine sequins.
Get a bit shirty beneath the shine in a crisp shirt dress with an asymmetrical hemline.
Complete your show-stopping look with a pair of stilettos that will make a statement!
