On Monday night, stars of Marvel Studio’s highly anticipated film Black Panther dressed in their best ‘royal attire’ to celebrate the film’s premiere.
The star-studded night saw our very own David Tlale make his Hollywood debut (as a designer, of course), when actress Florence Kasumba walked the red carpet in one of his dresses.
The actress looked incredible in the form-fitting dress made of dotted lace, pleated tulle and adorned in beads.
Check out the dress for yourself:
Florence was joined at the premiere by the rest of the cast of the film, including South African actors Connie Chiume, John Kani and Atandwa Kani. Yas! SA represent!
Actress Connie Chiume, best known for her role in Rhythm City, plays a mining elder in the film. ‘My character has no name, she is known at the mining elder,’ she said about her character. ‘Wakanda [the country in which Black Panther is set] is a self-sufficient country that is also very technologically advanced. The elders are very much like government ministers and play important roles. My character interacted with most of the main cast members.’
John Kani and Atandwa Kani
Theatre legend John Kani plays King T’Chaka and his son Atandwa Kani takes on the role as the younger version of him.
