Kimono or Kim, oh no! 😱

Before we get into this can we take a moment to think about what Kim Kardashian hasn’t done? I mean, she has literally done the most when it comes to fashun and beauty. In a nutshell, the world is Kim’s oyster and nothing will stand in the way of her dynasty. Go, girl boss, go.

Okay, now let’s chat about her latest venture: Kimono Solutionwear – Kim’s new all-inclusive shapewear line that is made for ‘everybody’. Did you know that it took her 15 whole years to develop this line from start to finish? Wowza.

‘Finally I can share with you guys this project that I have been developing for the last year. I’ve been passionate about this for 15 years. Kimono is my take on shapewear and solutions for women that actually work.’

Ok, so now for the tea: the ‘Kimono Solutions’ collection has received a ton of backlash regarding the name choice being culturally appropriated and the fact that it has been granted trademark status (and filed for a bunch of trademarks on the word Kimono – even actual Kimono!?). The discussion on Twitter has been rather heated.

Here Is What Twitter Had to Say:

Although, there were some positive things said about the collection.

Here Are The More Pro-‘Kimono’ Reactions:

On a more positive note, what’s great is that the garments come in nine different skin shades, have a rather inclusive range of sizes, from XXS – 4XL, and the undergarments are made with soft, supportive fabric, ‘for everyone to feel their most confident.’

‘I would always cut up my shapewear to make my own styles, and there have also been so many times I couldn’t find a shapewear color that blended with my skin tone so we needed a solution for all of this.’

This is also pretty cool: Kim has come out with ‘Solution Short’ – shorties that are suitable for high-slit dresses or skirts. The first time we’ve seen this type of style.

‘I developed this style for all of those times I wanted to wear a dress or skirt with a slit and still needed the support.’
