Last night, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were attending a church service, Kate Middleton casually cos-played as a literal angel. Why? Because Buckingham Palace was hosting its annual diplomatic reception, and, like, what better event to lean into the whole ~duchess thing~ and wear an evening gown that would make Cinderella’s evil step-sisters weep with jealousy?
Kate’s dress is a bespoke Jenny Packham, but it’s her tiara that really stole the show:
Royal nerds (read: hi, me) will recognize this as the Lover’s Knot tiara—which previously belonged to Princess Diana and was one of her very favorites:
Kate has worn the tiara on many occasions, including at a state banquet as recently as October!
Meanwhile, Meghan has yet to attend her first tiara-wearing event with the royals (minus her wedding, duh), but ya know…stay tuned!
