It’s official: Ayanda Thabethe is the winner of Halloween 2019

It’s over, fam.

It’s over, fam. Yesterday we were served with the Halloween look of all Halloween looks by none other than our very own Ayanda Thabethe.

The South African media personality and former COSMO cover girl blessed fans when she posted her Halloween ‘costume’ on the gram looking like Beyoncé’s doppelgänger. Yes, Beyoncé’s doppelgänger.

Ayanda wore a look that very closely (even, identically) resembled the look Queen Bey wore to the European premiere of The Lion King in London, earlier this year. And to clarify, the yellow gown, complete with a jaw-dropping leg slit, by Vietnamese-based designer Nguyen Cong Tri, won the red carpet. It was all anyone could talk about, for like, the entire month.

Fast forward nearly four months later and our girl, Ayanda, looked just as flawless (there, we said it) in an identical gown by CINNEL, a South African brand that stocks exclusive designer dresses based in Sandton City Mall in Johannesburg.

Let’s compare Beyoncé’s original look with Ayanda’s Halloween version

The dedication was so real! From her diamanté-encrusted jewellery and metallic heels, to shooting her pic at the EXACT location Bey snapped her look, Ayanda is the official winner of Halloween 2019.

Snaps for Pearl Thusi who also dressed up this Halloween:

While many of our fave local ladies didn’t celebrate Halloween this year, Pearl Thusi did. The actress AKA Mama Panther, went with the whole ‘Orange is the New Black’ theme, channeling Piper Chapman, with a blonde wig and orange overalls.

While we don’t think Ayanda could ever top this look, next year, this time, we will be eagerly awaiting to see what she pulls out of her bag of tricks.
