Guys, stop what you are doing because sneaker heels are now a thing

We need to take a moment so we can all debrief

We all remember that hectic nightmare of our tween selves owning the sneaker wedge, right? How could we forget, it still haunts us!

And if you don’t remember (perhaps you were a ‘cooler’ tween with a more sensible taste in fashion), you may remember the time last year when Cardi B wore Dsquared2’s sneaker-wedge hybrid from their spring 2019 collection and gave us all the nostalgic feels?

Well, there is a new sheriff in town and she’s called the hybrid sneaker-heel. Imagine if your favourite stiletto heels and your dad sneakers had a baby…

Guys, we honestly don’t know how to feel about this. Although, it may be kinda clever – *wanna be a skrr skrr but still be lady at the same time?*

Take a look at the genius or insanity that is London-based designer Ancuta Sarca’s high-fashion heels. Think: a sportswear-meet-kitten-heels ‘do.

The concept of fusion heel sneakers has been popping up for a while but it was Ancuta Sarca who solidified the trend (some may say she’s the sneaker-heels OJ) and came up with the concept with sustainability in mind. She started DIYing her old sneakers with the intention of giving them a fashionable second life and along came these Nike kitten-heel creations.

Similarly to Sarca, Berlin-based design student All Amin has also been churning out these Franken-heels. On her feed you will find weird and wonderful inventions. It’s like Transformers Cosplay but for your feet!

We’ll just leave these here for you:

So what’s the consensus people – are we gonna dabble in this trend or has the sneaker-game gone bit to far?

One thing’s for sure, these babies are both unconventional and resourceful AF.
