‘black is beautiful’

OMG, listen up, fash fans because H&M’s much-anticipated collaboration with South Africa’s Mantsho label launches this week… Yeeeet.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with the brand (probs not many of you), the Mantsho label, meaning ‘black is beautiful’ in native Sesotho language, was established in 2004 and has since graced numerous runways including those in Greece, India, USA, Jamaica, Nigeria, Botswana and Senegal.

Can we just have a moment for this label that is making waves, and doing us so proud *hear our virtual applause*

Mantsho x H&M is an exciting collection celebrating the elegance and vibrancy of Africa with modern and edgy designs. The range has a real feeling of home showcasing Afrocentric fashion to the rest of the world.

‘This is my love letter to the world from Africa,’ says Mantsho’s head of design, Palesa Mokubung. ‘I hope customers around the world will enjoy this ensemble of my stand-out pieces from my last three collections.’

The collection launches at H&M South Africa stores 9 am on Thursday the 15th of August. Got it diarised and your alarm set? Because we are sure this TDF collection will sell out as quickly as freshly baked donuts.
