Revealed: Are Neck Pillows The New It Accessory in Fashion?

The new #GlamSlam bag!

Anyone Feeling Sleepy?

Spotted at Maison Margiela’s Spring/Summer 2018 show, creative director John Galliano sent models down the runway looking as if they’re late to catch a flight! The models appeared with puffy, quilted bags that are referred to as the new #GlamSlam accessory for the high-end Paris brand.

The designer has just created a new fashion temptation. The brand gave us flashbacks from the moment Rita Ora stepped out in a fully dressed post-shower look at the MTV EMA’s in London, it’s almost as if you’re about to miss your flight!

Most of the bags were made out of quilted detailing and removable straps. With its versatility, you are able to wear one as a clutch bag, from its shoulder strap; or even as a travelling pillow – who knows!

Fashion Editor Cleo Marcopoulos

‘I’ve never been one to carry a neck pillow – even on a long flight. But, here comes John Galliano for Maison Margiela to change my sentiment towards them (I know some folk won’t enter the airport without them but they’re kinda annoying to carry around?). I don’t think its price tag will warrant me buying one of these, but I do love Margiela’s quilted neck pillows that transformed into an accessory on their SS18 runway. Also, hand me one or two of their cushion bags and a luggage tag inspired hair band, please.’

Fashion Freelancer Anke Nel

‘Three in one, why not? Whether I’m on a flight sleeping or out fixing myself a street-style look, I’ll be more than happy to own a Glam Slam bag!’

Fashion Intern Lesego Mtsolongo

‘Airport chic is one of my fave looks, this puffy bag resembles a duvet, something I need to get my hands on! John Galliano is a creative genius, only he would be able to turn sleepwear into couture! I’m obsessed.’

Fashion Intern Samantha Manne

‘This is amazing. Having the means to sleep 24/7? How about yes! Although, when it comes to airport-style I say keep it in the terminal.
