Personally, I am a huge Havaianas-wearing fan, and when it comes to summer, they don’t leave my feet. Paired with my poolside or beach look? Yes. With a saucy summer dress to the bar post tan-athon? Hell yeah. But wearing them on my maybe-one-day wedding day? Yaaaaah, not too sure about that one. I think I’ll need a bit more convincing.

Although, it’s important to note, nowadays we’re seeing an increasing number of brides moving away from traditional wedding heels, in favour of wearing a pair of simple sandals or even sneakers on their special day.
Exhibit A: Havaianas’ new range of so-called ‘essential’ wedding-style flip flops. They’re white, they’re cute, and rumour has it – they come with bling potential.
The tradition started 10 years ago when, when famous Brazilian TV presenters decided to give each of their wedding guests a pair of Havaianas. The truth is, you won’t find any wedding dance floor that is not flooded with Havaianas these days – not just in Brazil!
You can now own the dance floor, at the next weddings you attend, in a pair of uber-chic rubber flip-flops, thanks to Havaianas new option to customise yours for your ‘Big Day’.
A description for these new bridal-esque slops read: ‘A very special model of Brazil’s original and authentic flip-flops. The straps include small Swarovski crystals hand-sewn by artisans from Northern Brazil.’ How adorbs?
Their website reads: ‘Our wedding collection is the perfect union of ease and glamour for everything from the bridal shower to bridesmaids’ gifts to walking down the aisle to happily ever after.’
Here’s The Lowdown For Those Who Are Interested in These Bridal Slops For Their Big Day:
- Customers can place an order via email@example.com to have their flip flops customised
- The cost varies depending on the number of sandals they order
- However, there is a minimum order of 60 pairs – perfect for a ‘Havaianas’ slip-slop station, for when the night gets wild!
- You increase this number in multiples of 12 *Strange, but okay!

Okay, so I’m almost convinced.
I guess I would consider purchasing these for my wedding guests or even better, my bridal party if I were to get married at a beach location one day. Or, just cause, you know – things get wild on the d-floor.
