Beyoncé Features African Designs in Her New 'Spirit' Music Video

BRB, watching this on repeat.

Following this week’s release of the Lion King, Queen B blessed us not only with her outstanding red-carpet looks but with a new song, Spirit. The song will make part of the full Beyoncé-curated album, The Lion King: The Gift, out 19 July.

The video itself is a beautiful display of admiration for the ecosystems and biodiversity of Africa, placing Beyoncé in the middle of amazing African landscapes (pssst, keep an eye out for Blue Ivy in the video!).

In the video, Beyoncé appears wearing African brand Tongoro by Senegalese designer Sarah Diouf.

‘We are a 100% Made In Africa label providing clothing that offers style-conscious consumers quality, variety, and convenience, at affordable prices.’ says Diouf

In an interview with ABC, Beyoncé said that the music video is a ‘love letter to Africa’, and she wanted to ensure that it consisted of ‘the best talent from Africa’.

’20 years ago I was watching #TheLionKing for the first time with my brother, and today — somehow — I get to be a small part of it. How bigger can I dream…?’

As always, Bey looks gorgeous but her homage to Africa in every aspect of her video, and her desire to highlight local talents are truly inspiring.
