Oh hey, these are the 2020 Sun Met looks that we’re talking about

A day at the races, darling.??

This weekend saw Africa’s Richest Race Day, the 2020 Sun Met. We were super excited about this year’s theme, ‘African Luxury: Visionaries’, and we knew we’d be in for a treat in the style dep, taking into account the star-studded guest list and the official faces of the event being none other than Bonang Matheba (House of BNG MCC = the day’s bubbly of choice), and Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi.

And, *treat* it was. From Sarah Langa and Kefilwe’s head-turning looks by Fabrosanz, to Bonang’s ultra-bougie outfit changes, feast your eyes on the BEST looks of the 2020 Sun Met.

The most head-turning looks from the 2020 Sun Met

Best use of an outfit change: Bonang Matheba

Hold up, Queen B made an outfit change and we’re not sure which look we prefer. To clarify — they’re both TDF.

Naked dress

The first look saw B in a naked-esque dress by Nigerian designer Matopeda. We’re talking a completely embellished floor-length gown with a thigh-high slit in a nude shade that gave the illusion of nakedness. Bonang accessorised the look with American Swiss jewels.

Best twinning-is-winning duo: Sarah Langa and Kefilwe Mabote

Our favourite besties killed it in looks that saw bold African print in kinda-tailored-kinda-not silhouettes by Fabrosanz.

Best duo that would take up the most physical space: stylist Reinhard Mahalie and his bestie, Rumano Fabrishh

This duo were all about that Frozen aesthetic in an explosion of blue cascading tulle by designer Melisa Poulton. They literally gave the word *extra* new meaning.

Best look to nail the perfect Boomerang: Sasha-Lee Laurel

Miss South Africa, Sasha-Lee, wore a printed body-fitting gown with prominent ruffles from the waist down, by designer Ryan Keys. She looked flawless AF.

Best ‘is it fashion, is it art?’ look: Nandi Mbatha

Actress Nandi literally made us ‘oooo’ out loud. Her outfit saw a cocktail dress in a super architectural silhouette with a low-plunge neckline. From the ochre colour palette to the hair, we’re literally obsessed with this look by designer Quiteria Atelier.

Best ‘head-to-toe lime but make it fashun’ look: Rich Mnisi

We all know Rich pulls of highlighter green like no other, and this look was no exception. We loved the simplicity of the style (a simple shirt-like top and fitted trousers) with the wow-factor being the zesty lime hue and the lace-up detail.

Best Black Swan inspired look: Lauren Campbell

Lauren’s Quiteria Atelier look was all sultriness, black feathers and overall Matrix viiiibes.

Best ‘attention to detail’ look: Aisha Baker

Aisha wore a deep-yellow one-shoulder top and pants creation. What caught our eye the most was her flower shoulder detail and dazzling jewels by American Swiss.
