R. Kelly is Arrested for Sex Trafficking and Child Pornography

Totaling 34 counts of sexual abuse this year.

R. Kelly is arrested for sex trafficking and child pornography in this latest round of federal charges. Including his many previous charges this year alone, there are now 34 counts of sexual abuse in total.

The NYPD Arrest

He’s been dropped by his record label and cancelled by many. Survivors came forward in their numbers. We saw video footage of him with a minor, and there are reports of a sex cult. There is a whole documentary and lots of media coverage. Now, the alleged sexual predator has been arrested.

The NYPD  and Homeland Security (which means this is serious AF) arrested him in Chicago last night. R. Kelly (now 52 years old) will stand trial in New York.

The New York Times reports that the R&B singer was arrested on federal charges, including child pornography. Attorney Fitzpatrick says he was arrested on a 13-count indictment:

“The indictment includes charges of child pornography, enticement of a minor, and obstruction of justice”.

A Long-Ass List of Previous Charges

As you may know, R. Kelly has BEEEEEN in the news for this. That’s because there’s already a long list of previous sexual abuse charges against him. Earlier this year, R. Kelly was charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse counts in Chicago. Many of these counts include minors.

In May, he faced an additional 11 counts of sexual assault in Illinois. They just keep stacking up. Channel24 reports that these charges that carry a minimum of six years in prison.

That’s 21 previous charges. The accusations date back to the late ’90s (like two decades of alleged sexual abuse). R Kelly pleaded not guilty to everything so far. The most recent 13 federal charges put the total at 34 counts of sexual abuse and other sex crimes. Let’s hope he’s held accountable this time.
