Here’s what you can learn from 19-year-old vlogger Caspar Lee
1 YouTube dreams are easy to launch
All you need is a camera and willing cheerleaders like friends and family to help you create content. Caspar, 20, started vlogging in 2011. And from the onset, he set his tone as irreverent, fun and somewhat random in the sense that he took simple ideas and conversations many of us have had, and turned them into a business plan.

2 Content is king
Content is what will set you apart. Caspar’s inspiration is the life and times of a Millennial. He looks and sounds like a member of Generation Y, which is what keeps us going back to his channel. Be authentic, topical and relatable. Also, feel free to ride the popular wave – check Caspar’s obsession with One Direction.
That time he asked his nephew and niece about 1D and got more than two-million views…
3 Buddy up!
Want to get more followers? Share viewers by inviting other popular vloggers to feature in your posts. They get exposure to your audience, you get to be known by their followers; everybody wins, especially if you create laugh-out-loud-funny content.
4 Brand @YouOnline
Some people have a lot of followers, but let their popularity end there. Not so Caspar: he keeps his channel talk of the town, from Cape Town and London to Sydney and Ontario by doing cool stuff like walking red carpets and acting in movies (Spud 3).
5 Great hair is everything
If there is one thing Caspar has taught us, it is that great hair goes a very long way. Think about it: how many times have you found yourself on his channel to check out his latest vid, only to spend hours looking at his old videos to see the evolution of his hair from the floppy mess it was a year ago to his current shampoo ad-ready ‘do?
