News flash: guys can be just as insecure as girls. And, sometimes, they use some pretty outlandish techniques, from dodgy dating ‘gurus’, to help them get past their shyness.
Anyone tried any of these on you?
1. ‘Disqualification’. According to SonicSeduction.com, women like guys who don’t like them. So, to get us interested, they have to pretend to be nonchalant and make us feel like we have to earn them – in other words (ie theirs), as a woman, you have to qualify before you can get a guy’s attention. It doesn’t stop there. SonicSeduction.com advises guys to ‘be the challenge’. If your guy is suddenly unavailable and acts as if he really isn’t interested in what you have to say, so that you have to run after him, could be he’s following this awesome (but not really) advice.

2. Fractionation. Watch out ladies: if a man approaches you, looks into your eyes and introduces himself in a calm, deep and confident voice, it could be that he is using a form of hypnosis to seduce you. Enthusiasts claim that fractionation is so effective that it can help a man get a woman into bed within 15 minutes, and that its power is so irresistible that the people who first uncovered just how compelling it is (luminaries including the likes of Freud) warned men not to use it.
3. Ditching dates. If he takes his advice from ‘The Game’ author Clay Collins, he’ll never take you out to an ordinary restaurant or the movies. That’s because these mundane venues aren’t great for creating chemistry and romance. If you find yourself going for a drive or standing on a busy street corner, ‘people watching’, on a ‘date’, could be he’s a game player.
