Halle Berry just shared a photo of her abs on Instagram and there are six of them. The actress is 53 but is looking more ripped than ever after smashing her goals of achieving ‘ripped abs’ in preparation for an acting role. She revealed the secret to her rock-hard body is a combination of intense training, following a Keto diet, and intermittent fasting.

Happy #FitnessFriday, everyone! There’s no better feeling than setting a goal and smashing it. One of my goals for #BruisedTheMovie? Ripped Abs – and today? I finally got them, and it feels unbelievable! This #FitnessFriday, I encourage you guys to set your bar. What is your fitness goal? Set the BAR higher than you think, share your goal in the comments and HOLD yourself to it. The work won’t be easy, but that pay off? Worth every damn second. In the meantime, head to stories for my #BruisedTheMovie workout, courtesy of my performance coach @mubarakmalik, aka “Bar” and put that inner-warrior to the test! Happy Friday! ♥️
Halle is directing and starring in the film Bruised, in which she plays an MMA fighter. To prep for her role, she started training with her personal trainer Peter Lee Thomas, making #FitnessFridays a thing.

It’s #FitnessFriday! This week we go allll the way back. I’m talkin’ WAY back. Get ready to learn from the OGs, because this series of exercises is reported to be over 2,500 YEARS OLD. When you have a busy life you often need go-to moves that can help make a bad day better. At least I do. 😂 When @peterleethomas shared the five #TibetanRites with me I was amazed because it really worked! This series has been used for centuries to increase energy, reduce stress, create an enhanced sense of calm and clarity of thought, increase strength and flexibility, detoxify the body and improve focus. I dare you to give it a try and let me know what you think! Head to stories to learn more. ❤️💪🏽 ✨
We love that Halle isn’t keeping how she got this banging bod a secret (we’re looking at you, Kardashians, ‘cos we know you’re getting more help than just that Flat Tummy Tea). Her workouts are all posted on her Instagram Highlights, and she doesn’t use fancy and expensive equipment. In fact, most of her workouts simply take place in her garden (with the sound of a trickling stream in the background and a ripped personal trainer off-camera).
Halle doesn’t swear by one form of exercise but rather a combination of many. She loves boxing, strength training, high-intensity cardio, and even an ancient yoga practice called the Tibetan Rites. You can also check out her weekly ‘PHIT Talks’ on her IGTV channel where she and her trainer Peter Lee Thomas discuss everything from ab exercises to the best running shoes.
Halle Berry’s Diet: What’s she eating though? 👀
Halle doesn’t pretend she scoffs pizza all day (unless it’s cauliflower base); she’s all about on-trend diets that actually work. Halle eats a strict Keto diet and also does intermittent fasting throughout the day. She drinks Bulletproof Coffee, which uses grass-fed butter instead of milk, and apparently gives you a crazy amount of energy plus curbs your appetite.
Keto is a low-carb high fat diet that celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow and Kim Kardashian are fans of. The diet hugely restricts your carb intake so that your body has nothing to use for energy and starts burning your fat instead. One of the major perks of a Keto diet is that you’re never hungry. You’re allowed to gorge on deliciously fatty things like meat and cheese, as long as you stay far away from the bakery section.
There are a few variations on intermittent fasting but they all essentially involve splitting your days or weeks up into periods of eating and fasting. One of the most popular and doable versions of intermittent fasting is fasting for 16 hours and only eating during the other 8-hour window of your day.
So if you’re interested in getting a 6-pack like Halle (we would settle for a 2-pack at this stage TBH) you’re going to need to pick up some kettle-bells, go Keto and get fasting. Halle says ‘I encourage you guys to set your bar. What is your fitness goal? Set the BAR higher than you think, share your goal in the comments and HOLD yourself to it. The work won’t be easy, but that pay off? Worth every damn second.’
