The secret to scoring awesome abs, to-die-for thighs, and a beautiful bum is simple: Attack each area from two directions. Here, we show you how.

Exercise physiologist and certified personal trainer, Sal Fichera, explains a simple and effective workout to specifically slim and sculpt your top trouble spots. What makes this lean routine so special is that it targets each problem area from two angles. ‘Your muscles are multidimensional, so to sculpt your abs, bum and thighs, you have to attack them from two directions,’ says Fichera. Try this two-pronged approach three times a week on non-consecutive days and you should make noticeable progress in one month.

Outer-Thigh Lift
Lie on your right side, extending your legs in a straight line with your torso. Rest your hand on your bent right arm, and place your left arm on your left leg. Bend your right knee and tilt your entire body forward slightly. Exhale and slowly raise your left leg about two feet off the ground, adding resistance by pressing down with your hand. ‘Point your toes toward the ground to help target the outer-thigh region,’ adds Fichera. Inhale as your return to starting position. Do 12 reps, and switch sides for two sets.

Inner-Thigh Press
Sit on the edge of a bench or chair with your feet about five to eight centimetres apart and your legs splayed. Place your hands on your inner thighs above your knees. Exhale and press your thighs together, resisting with your hands. ‘The more manual resistance you apple, the better the workout your inner thighs will receive,’ says Fichera. Stop when your knees are almost touching and return to start. Do 2 sets of 12 reps.
