Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s brood is about to get a whole lot bigger if the rapper gets his way, after he revealed he wants seven children – four more than the Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars have already.
During a meeting with Yoweri K. Museveni, the President of Uganda, Kanye was asked how many children he had. He said he had three – North, five, Saint, two, and Chicago, nine months – but that ‘I would like to have seven’ (via The Mirror).
I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and @KimKardashian to Uganda. I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how to promote Uganda's tourism and the arts. I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. It is the true Pearl of Africa. pic.twitter.com/BO0iD0sFCP

The camera then pans to Kim, who shakes her head as she says: ‘I would not like to have seven.’
It’s hardly surprising Kim is less keen on the idea of having four more children, considering the complications she had with her first two pregnancies – which ultimately led the couple to welcome their third child via surrogate.
In a post on her blog, Kim explained that she was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia – a rare condition that only affects a few women – during her pregnancy with North. While its exact cause is unknown, it is believed to stem from issues with the placenta. According to BabyCentre UK, it ’causes the flow of blood through the placenta to be reduced’ and can mean that the ‘baby won’t get enough oxygen and nutrients, which may restrict [their] growth.’
She wrote at the time,
‘My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!!! My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that—it was the most painful experience of my life! They gave me a second epidural but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal. They say that this is what some women died from as a result of childbirth back in the day, without proper care. I’m so thankful that my doctor was able to catch this and address the issue immediately.’
