Fashion Dads Instagram is the latest in funny dad memes and a hilarious spoof of the fashion blogging scene, where moody poses and deadpan earnestness meet OTT hashtags like #SockGameOnPoint, #PassionForFashion, #LoveAndLight and #OldNavyRobe, with hilarious results.
It’s the brainchild of Atlanta, US, residents Travis May and Ashley Hesseltine and grew out of a conversation about their dads’ sometimes mad fashion choices. But by far the best thing about it is the tongue-in-cheek lampooning of fashion-bloggerese. As one ‘dad’ blogs: ‘For the Dallas-Detroit game, I chose high-waisted brown trousers that hit right under my #ManBoobs and paired them with a bright orange sweater so everyone could see me in the box supporting my fave team, the #DallasCowboys. This look is all about class and comfort. #FashionAndFootball #TrendyTouchdown #DressForYourBody #70InchWaist #PlusSizeAndProud.’
But see for yourselves… and if you have a whacky-dressing dad, post his pic!
Here are some of our favourites…
‘”Confidence. If you have it, you can make anything look good.” -DVF. Went shopping @dianawarner tonight and LOVE LOVE this new orange sweater matched with baby blue khaki short. Great for early spring outings and dinners.”
‘#QOTD #VacationStyle #StreetStyle #Artsy #RiskAndReward #BeachBoys #TransitionalPieces #ReadyForAnything #AllPurposeOutfit #RalphLauren #FashionDads #DIY #Etsy via @bettyblonde’
‘Wearing the same color and designer from head to toe makes a strong and powerful statement. #AllRedEverything #ColorOfPassion #PassionForFashion #RalphLauren #Relaxation #Confidence #PorcelainSkin #Thigh Game #IfYouGotItFlauntIt’ etcetera…
‘I LOVE pairing a plaid robe with a solid 3/4 zip pullover. It’s a subtle but fun way to mix it up! As for the hat, it’s extremely important to keep a sense of humor in this industry. There will always be haters out there!’
‘#UsedToBeADancer #TinyDancer #GodBlessElton #ImScaredOfHeights #JustHadANoseBleed #WhyDidIBuyAChalet’ etcetera…

If your dad is a fashionista, submit his picture and maybe he’ll bring you as a plus-one when he gets invited to fancy Fashion Week parties.
Like many fashion models and bloggers, the dads make excessive use of hashtags. One father writes:

“Not saying that they have terrible style, just some of the outfits they put together are hilarious,” the two told BuzzFeed News in an email. “So we decided to post them and act like they were fashion bloggers we see everywhere.”
“Wearing the same color and designer from head to toe makes a strong and powerful style statement,” this one reads.
The posts also include a string of perfectly on-point hashtags, like: #CrocsOnFleek #CustomTieDye #DockersShorts #OutletSho
After a long day of coaching I like to throw on something chic and comfortable for my post game interviews. Today I chose my #Patriots #Nike navy blue hoodie matched with a darker navy swishy pant rolled up just under the knee for a little extra pizazz! To complete this look, you can wear white crew socks and vintage #Nike tennis shoes
