Everything We Know About The Bachelor South Africa Premier

Who is the first South African Bachelor?

The first ever South African Bachelor is none other than Lee Thompson.  He’s 29 years old and was born on 9 December, 1988 in Port Elizabeth, but graduated high school in Pretoria. According to the Boss Models website, he’s is 1.88m tall, wears a size 11 shoe, has dark brown hair, and green eyes. He studied marketing management through The University of South Africa and Health & Fitness through the Zululand Sports Academy while playing rugby for the Sharks in Kwa-Zulu Natal. He’s been on the cover of Men’s Health South Africa twice. He’s an entrepreneur with several of his own businesses including a cleaning company and a website design company. He also manages a gym in Camps Bay. He is on social media, but sorry ladies, his Instagram account is private (rude!).

Who are the women on The Bachelor South Africa?

Engineers, a scientist, marketing specialists, accountants, lawyers and even a teacher. Yip, these ladies did not come to play housewife-housewife with Lee. They are smart and accomplished and we think it’s going to be hard to pick a fave. And in a surprise twist, it was revealed that Reeva Steenkamp’s best friend, Gina Myers is one of the ladies vying for Lee’s attention. Gina, who in previous interviews described Reeva as being like a “sister” to her, is a celebrity makeup artist. The two women lived together for 6 months before Reeva was murdered by her boyfriend Oscar Pistorius, who is currently serving 13 years for the crime. You can meet every one of the contestants on Channel 24.

There is going to be some action in the show

Within the first few seconds of the premier episode, a montage of clips shows some cuddling, hand holding and yes, even ~smooching~. There’s a literal rollercoaster ride, a sports car, a yacht, a helicopter, a speedboat – and that’s within the first 2 minutes! And yes, there is some drama between contestants to look forward to! The phrase “you’re just not authentic” was thrown around between clips of tears falling down contestants’ cheeks.

Welp, we can’t wait to see more! If you missed the first episode of The Bachelor South Africa cause you were on a hot and romantic Valentine’s Day date, you can watch the full episode here.
