There are so many celebrity diets that border on ridiculous, but there are some that stand out more than others. Here’s a round up of the five most outrageous celebrity diets of all time. Take a look:

1. The Bacteria Diet – Madonna
Madonna’s latest diet involves consuming raw and rich in fibre foods that are filled with plenty of good bacteria. This essentially encourages helpful microbes to grow in her bowel. She claims that this diet has helped her to combat signs of ageing and is useful when it comes to preventing several diseases. We’re not too sure about how we feel about bacteria growing inside our bowels.

2. The Placenta Diet – January Jones
Ever wondered how January Jones got her luscious curves back after the birth of her son? The actress credits the fact that she’s had her own placenta dried, crushed and then popped into pill form for losing her baby weight and avoiding post-partum depression. Using your placenta to lose baby weight? Well, as long as we don’t have to see what we’re actually eating!

3. The Master Cleanse – Beyoncé
Made famous by Queen B herself, the liquid diet consists of only hot water, lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for 10 days. The superstar lost an astounding 10 kilograms for her role in Dreamgirls, and although it seemed to have helped her, taking on this diet only offers short-term results that are unhealthy. Don’t try this!

4. The Cookie Diet – Snooki
If you’ve seen pictures of the Jersey Shore star’s post-baby body (before her second pregnancy) you would know that her transformation is awe-inspiring! What’s her secret? Apparently Snooki owes all of her success to the cookie diet (along with fat burner Zantrex and plenty of exercise), where she was allowed to eat eight portion-controlled cookies throughout the day. Dr Siegal’s cookie diet meant that she didn’t go hungry and that she could enjoy a generous meal for dinner!

5. The Drunk Diet – Lady Gaga
We’re not sure if we can take anything that Lady Gaga says seriously, especially since this is purely based on her sense of fashion. “ I am on the drunk diet … I like to drink whiskey and stuff while I’m working.” Uhm … while we know that a glass a day (especially wine) has been known to show health benefits, drinking all day in order to lose weight seems a bit extreme. Lady Gaga’s ex, Luc Carl, has actually written a book on the topic titled How I lost 40 Pounds … Wasted.
