On how I ended up acting
Acting wasn’t really a career I wanted to pursue but I a lot of people around me encouraged me to pursue it because of my ‘bubbly’ personality.
I now feel acting is a gift from God and that it’s something I was destined to do. Now that I’m in it, it’s as if I found love. I’m constantly trying to find ways to better myself.
The local and international actors/actresses I look up to
Internationally, Denzel Washington is someone I look up to. His craft transcends the screen and you’re able to feel the emotion he expresses in every role he plays. It’s a gift to watch him and I believe that he is one of the best actors of our lifetime.
Locally, I am inspired by Pearl Thusi and Trevor Noah. They have proven that talent and passion goes a long way.
If I could act alongside anyone, it would be…
Viola Davis – she’s amazing and I’m so inspired by her story telling.
Besides acting, I enjoy…
Any form of physical activity outside the house. I love running and outdoors sports like soccer.
If I wasn’t an actress, I’d…
Probably be running my mom’s transport business in KZN. It’s what I was doing before I started acting.
The items on the top of my bucket list
To travel the world, meet Oprah and win an Oscar.
My go-to look
Jeans, a top and slops. Lol – comfort first.

@Theshaderoom – I love celebrity gossip.
What it was like winning the Best Newcomer TV Actress award at the Simon ‘Mabhunu’ Sabela Film and Television Awards
I honestly wasn’t expecting to win the award – I was shocked, and people who I was nominated with are incredible actresses.
Winning this award has motivated me to challenge myself and keep on delivering the absolute best in my craft. I’m just very grateful and honoured to be recognised on such a powerful platform, more especially on my debut show. Wow – The Oscars, here we come.
In 5 years time…
I see myself on the big screen and on major TV channels such as Fox, ABC, CBS, BET, OWN and E! I would also love to be on the cover on Cosmopolitan.
Most importantly, I would love to create and produce local content for radio and broadcast.
