We’ve been captivated by Zozibini Tunzi since she was crowned Miss South Africa in August 2019. But since she has won the Miss Universe title, we can’t help but be in awe. Now, she will be making her first return to South Africa since she was crowned in December with her homecoming tour and we are excited!
According to a statement to the press, Zozi will travel to Johannesburg, Cape Town and the Eastern Cape.
Here’s the schedule of where she will be so you can have your Miss Universe moment:
Saturday, 08 February 2020
Zozi will arrive at O.R Tambo airport and the public is encouraged to attend from 7 am. Her welcome at the airport will also include a performance by the Soweto Gospel Choir; and Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, the Minister of Communications and Telecommunications; Makhotso Sotyu, Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture and Sasha-Lee Olivier, the current Miss South Africa will be in attendance.
Fans can also travel to the airport for free from Pretoria, Midrand, Marlboro and Park Stations via the Gautrain by saying ‘Gautrain took me there.’
On Saturday afternoon, she will travel to her hometown of Tsolo, Eastern Cape on a colourful float that resembles the South African flag and the national costume that she wore in the Miss Universe competition.

Still, in the Eastern Cape, Zozi will unveil a mural that was created in her honour and will attend a lunch where she will be entertained with traditional dancing.

She will visit her former primary school, Canaan Academy with her mother. She will meet with grade one and two students from the school.

Zozibini will return to Johannesburg and travel through the streets of the city on an open-top bus. The route will still be announced.
The evening of the 13th, she will head to Cape Town and will be a personal guest of President Cyril Ramaphosa at the State of the Nation Address in Parliament.

On Valentine’s Day, she will tour the streets of Cape Town on an open-top bus. The route will still be announced.
