Jay-Z and Beyoncé touched down at Lanseria Airport for the Global Citizen Festival last Friday and nothing has been the same since.
After killing their long-awaited set at the festival on Sunday, we thought they’d have long said ‘deuces’ to us but turns out; they celebrated Jay-Z’s 49th birthday (which was yesterday) with a private party here in Johannesburg.
We will forever be eternally grateful to DJ Black Coffee who, despite the ridiculously private couple’s wishes to never share unless they feel like it, posted a video of Beyoncé speaking into a microphone and singing ‘a happy birthday’ to her husband, with the help of the crowd who was in attendance.
We can’t make out where exactly the party was, all we know is that Black Coffee’s location said ‘Johannesburg’ and quite frankly, that is all the information we need.
If you didn’t catch the performance at the stadium nor were you able to watch it – we have a couple of highlights from the festival. It was arguably the most electrifying performance to end the night. The power duo performed some of their top hits, Bonnie and Clyde, Halo, Formation, Holy Grail and Apeshit to name a few.

THIS is what we call a power couple! Last night was incredible – and if you want to check out our Instastories, we saved as much of the live performance as we were allowed to record! – – #GlobalCitizenFestivalSA #Mandela100 #live #concert #music #festival #globalcitizen #beyonce #jayz #live #singing #performance #incredible #sandtonmagazine #joburg #johannesburg #southafrica
