Police have officially confirmed that charges were filed on Thursday against four of the 17 suspects arrested earlier this week in connection with Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery.
According to The Guardian, a 63-year-old suspect identified as ‘Yunice A.’ — the apparent mastermind of the heist — was charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, and criminal association on Thursday. A 44-year-old suspect identified as ‘Florus H.’ was charged with charged with complicity in an armed robbery and kidnapping, as well as a preliminary charge for criminal association. A 64-year-old suspect identified as ‘Marceau B.’ was charged with handling stolen goods and criminal association. All three are currently being held in provisional detainment.
The fourth suspect who was charged on Thursday was 27-year-old Gary Madar, the brother of Kim’s Paris chauffeur, Michael Madar, who was also arrested on Monday. However, Michael Madar was released earlier this week, while his brother faces charges for complicity and a preliminary charge for criminal association. He has also been released from custody, but remains under judicial supervision.
At this time, six other suspects remain in custody for their alleged involvement in the armed robbery. According to E! News, the investigating judge on the case will decide if these suspects will be charged on Friday.
Meanwhile, Kim K is said to be ‘relieved’ by the arrests, and recently touched down in Dubai for her first formal return to work. She was spotted wearing just her small, simple wedding band for the trip, a move thought to try and detract attention from her wealth and jewellery while she travels. Over the past few weeks, Kim K has also made a slow but sure return to Instagram, though her posts are markedly different in style and content from those pre-robbery, now focusing on her family instead of herself, her appearance or her bling.
