Check Out the First Pics of the South African Netflix Series 'Queen Sono' with Pearl Thusi

We can’t wait to watch!

Netflix announced late last year that the first African original series will be Queen Sono starring one of our favourite South African actresses, Pearl Thusi, and now they have released the first official pictures from the filming.

Directed by Kagiso Lediga and Tebogo Malope, Pearl plays the role of Queen, a spy working for an undercover South African agency. The cast also includes Vuyo Dabula as Shandu, an ex-spy, as well as Sechaba Morohele, Chi Mhende, Loyiso Madinga, Rob van Vuuren, Kate Liquorish, Khathu Ramabulana and Enhle Maphumulo.

Kagiso Lediga will also serve as showrunner for the series which will be produced by Diprente, the production company that created Catching Feelings and Late Nite News.

Queen Sono will be a six-part action thriller and is expected to premiere globally in 2020.
