Rebecca Black, who shot to fame as the singer of the song Friday has opened up about her sexuality in a recent episode of the podcast, Dating Straight.

She shared a story to the podcast hosts, Jack Dodge and Amy Ordman, that she recently went through a breakup with a woman.

‘I made a conscious decision to not like ‘come out’ but to just like, I don’t know, people started asking and I stopped responding. I’m still in the process it feels like,’ Rebecca said.

When she was asked about her how she identifies, she said, ‘Every day is different, it’s something that over the past few years I’ve obviously been having a lot of conversations with myself about… and with you guys, my friends and my family.’

‘To me, the word ‘queer’ feels really nice. I have dated a lot of different types of people, and I just don’t really know what the future holds. Some days, I feel a little more on the ‘gay’ side than other.’

Rebecca said that her relationship with her ex ended because she needed alone time. But she’s not necessarily ready to get into another relationship anytime soon. But she did also add that even if she did, she would have no choice unless she wanted to ‘Skype date people.’ However, she and her ex are still trying to be there for each other and support one another.
