Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Surrenders to Police and Begins His Prison Sentence

‘Now take me to jail’

After marrying his longtime girlfriend Lauren Pesce in November and spending the holidays with his friends and family, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino has turned himself in to the police and will begin his prison sentence for tax evasion.

Back in January 2018, Mike pled guilty to a 2014 tax evasion charge relating to $9 million (roughly R122 994 450) in income and falsifying records, and was sentenced to eight months in prison, two years of probation, and he’ll have to finish 500 hours of community service and pay almost $133,000 (roughly R1 817 584). Relating to the same case, his brother, Marc Sorrentino, was ordered to serve two years.

Before Mike went to the police this morning, he posted a farewell-for-now message on his Twitter and encouraged his fans to send him mail by posting the address. It’s just a PO box, though, so don’t be all creepy and try to show up at his visitation hours or anything.

He also seemed to embrace the whole situation and wrote, ‘The comeback is always greater than the Setback’ and included a GoodFellas GIF of someone saying, ‘Now take me to jail.’ Clever guy. How long do you think he was waiting to use that one?

Mike’s lawyer, Kristen Santillo, said he’ll serve his time at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York, FYI. Sadly, there aren’t any tanning booths in prison so Mike won’t be able to do one third of his GTL routine, but at least he’ll have plenty of time to focus on his biceps and possibly even watch some Jersey Shore reruns.
