Here's 5 Things You Need to Know About SA's New Bachelor, Marc Buckner

Get those applications in!

It’s almost time for us to be completely obsessed with The Bachelor South Africa again, and M-Net has announced that Marc Buckner will be the next eligible bachelor.

After the crazy finale of season one, once again they are inviting ladies who are keen to settle down with the man of their dreams to put their names forward. Entries close on Wednesday, 11 September at midnight.

Here are five facts about the new man of your dreams:

1. He is 36 years old and ready for marriage

‘Thirty-six-year-old Marc is the type of guy who puts his heart and soul into everything he does,’ says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard. ‘But once you’ve seen that twinkle in his eye and have the chance to engage with him in conversations on a range of topics – from environmental issues to motorbikes, healthy living, wellness, psychology and news headlines – there’s really only one way to describe him – HUSBAND MATERIAL! And that’s exactly what we want our Bachelor to be.’

2. He is a male model

Marc was approached by a modelling agency when he was sixteen and has since appeared in commercials for many brands, as well as music videos and movies. About it, he said, ‘It opened many doors for me and allowed me to go to exotic places and meet many interesting people.’

3. He loves the outdoors

Marc lists the being in the outdoors as his favourite activities, from hiking to kayaking to sky-diving, or even just a ‘picnic with a view’.

4. He makes his own furniture

I mean nothing makes us *heart eyes* like a man who knows how to make his own furniture. Marc loves DIY projects, and also plans to grow his own vegetable garden.

5. He is a currency trader and investor

And don’t fear that he doesn’t exercise his brain as well, Marc also dabbles in currency trading and investing.

To be part of the show, ladies have to be over 21 and single – either never married or divorced – and meet the requirements stipulated in the Terms and Conditions (published on mnet.tv). You need to fill out the short entry form on the M-Net website, where you will also be asked to submit two photographs of yourself.

Among the Terms and Conditions are that you are in possession of a valid South African ID document and that you will be available for filming between 5 October and 5 December. Click here for the entry form. Entries close on Wednesday (11 September) at midnight.
