Lerato and her husband, Thami Ndlala are currently in the traditional marriage process. The pair had a smaller ceremony than expected because of the restrictions such as that no more than 100 may gather in a specific place. A few of the lucky attendees included Somizi and Mohale.
She revealed that she was married last Tuesday on her Metro FM show, The Bridge, she said, ‘I am a woman, I’m a married woman that is.’
On Saturday, the held the Umembeso, which is the meeting of the two families and the exchanging of gifts. According to City Press, Lerato arrived in a Mercedes Benz V-Class accompanied by her family.
According to customs, the Kganyago family gathered outside the Ndlela’s gate in Sandhurst, Johannesburg carrying blankets and amancasi and chanted wedding songs before they presented the bride to the groom’s family. When the Ndlela’s gate was opened it was a sign that the family had invited the bride into their home. The event then continued with the family being showered with gifts and singing and ululating.
The pair are set to have a white wedding later in the year.
