Kim Kardashian and Kanye West almost named their fourth child Ye instead of Psalm

Sorry, what??

  • Kim Kardashian revealed that Psalm was almost named Ye in a Keeping Up With the Kardashian teaser.
  • Kanye, who is also referred to as Ye, vetoed the name.

Time is a weird thing in the Keeping Up With the Kardashians universe, because one minute there’s Kardashian/Jenner drama happening in the tabloids, and then months later we’re all reliving the drama again on E!.

Case in point: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their fourth child in May, and the delivery is only now happening on KUWTK. Also being revisited: How Kim and Kanye came up with the name Psalm for their baby boy. Even though it’s a unique name, it seems like the baby got off easy, because apparently the name that they were originally planning to go with was…wait for it…Ye. As in Kanye’s nickname and Twitter name.

In a teaser for KUWTK posted on Kris’ Insta stories, Kris asks, ‘Kimberly, how did you guys settle on Psalm?’ Kim replies, ‘Cause his name was gonna be Ye. Kanye doesn’t like Ye cause Ye doesn’t mean anything, and Kylie called at the last second and was like, ‘No!’ Psalm and Saint sound good together, and the kids call him now Psalmye.’

And wow, while Psalmye (rhymes with Kanye) would have been an AMAZING name, there was more to the choice than how the name sounds. Kris previously explained that Psalm’s name is a reference to a book in the Old Testament of the Bible and is ‘just a wonderful way to celebrate how they feel. And he’s such a blessing, so it’s perfect. He’s just adorable.’

And while that’s super sweet, I hope nobody minds if I call Psalm ‘Psalmye’ in my head from here on out, cause it’s TOO good.
