Comedy Central Roast of AKA Tickets Are Officially Sold Out!

Save the date, lovelies!

You may have seen all the news, and perhaps been part of the hype, around AKA’s Comedy Central Roast.

As it turns out, tickets for the Comedy Central Roast of AKA are officially sold out! The rapper announced the news via this hilarious and bold snippet of all the ‘horrible’ things he’s done and said. And if you’ve been part of the people he’s roasted for eating pies while he had his lobster – he ain’t sorry.

And what you obviously already know now is they’ve added three new roasters – soccer legend Mark Fish, comedian and TV personality Nina Hastie and rock star Francois van Coke, with Pearl Thusi who was initially announced as the roast master. I am ready for all the OMGs and holy sheeeeets, and definitely the oh-she-did-not-just-take-it-there sermons – both from myself, and the collective internet reactions.

And because AKA is obviously a troll himself, the Comedy Central in collaboration with Showmax have a ‘segment’, if you will, of Troll Tales where AKA reads out people’s tweets and he just gives his immediate honest reaction. There’s one about Bonang, his massive hit Fela in Versace, and something about people eating stale chips while tweeting all this. Sigh. You knew it was coming.

Now, when the trailer dropped we lost our collective minds because 1) how self-indulgent, 2) it’s hilarious and 3) shoutout to that narrator whoever they are. If you missed out on buying a ticket, fret not, Showmax has got you.

The episode premiers on Showmax on 11 March, and you can expect an extended uncut and uncensored version on 12 March. Filming for the show will take place on 21 February at The Teatro, Montecasino in Johannesburg.
