Thuso Mbedu has just been nominated for an international Emmy Award, for the second year in a row!
The 27-year-old is up for the Best Actress award for her performance as Winnie Bhengu in Mzansi Magic’s teen drama Is’thunzi. She’s up against actresses from the UK, Brazil and Germany.
The actress shared the exciting news on Instagram, saying: ‘I don’t know hey… Issa 2-time International Emmy Nominee. OK. I’m done. Thank you, God. Thank you, Rapid Blue. Thank you, tribe.’
This is Thuso’s second international Emmy nomination. Last year, she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress and was the only African to be nominated.
The International Emmy Awards will take place on 19 November at the Hilton Hotel in New York.
