Boity goes platinum

Boity has been doing all the things that need to be done! The TV personality/rapper has been owning the fashion game and she just announced that her debut single, Wuz Dat went platinum – and she hasn’t even released a full album yet.

Boity, whose real name is Boitumelo Thulo, released Wuz Dat featuring Nasty C in August 2018. The song went on to win the 2018 SA Hip Hop award for Best Collaboration.

The rapper announced the news on social media with the caption, ‘“Wuz Dat”, my first ever single, went PLATINUM!! Making me the first ever female rapper in SA to go Platinum! ABLE GOD!’

Boity’s fellow celebs sent congratulations such as Linda Mtoba, Rouge, Bontle Modiselle, Dawn Thandeka-King, Buhle Samuels, Nadia Nakai and Blue Mbombo.

Writer Khaya Dlanga commented with, ‘Woooooow! Congratulations! Just remembered that day at Gemelli when you got us to hear it in your car. Never forget it. Huuuuge achievement! Proud of you.’

She released her second song, Bakae in February 2019.
