We are still reeling after the finale of The Bachelor last week but we have some more big news in South African dating reality shows – Boer Soek ‘n Vrou has announced that will have their first openly gay farmer.
kykNET’s popular dating show, Boer Soek ‘n Vrou had a special episode on Sunday evening where the audience was introduced to all ten of this year’s farmers. The farmers were aged between 26 and 51 and expressed their hope to find their ideal partner.
This year, for the first time, the series is featuring an openly gay man in Damian, a 37-year-old cattle and sheep farmer who hails from Bapsfontein. And even though the reality show has a mostly conservative Afrikaans following, this shows a positive sign of progress.
The show will follow the five farmers who receive the most letters, and it will air in October 2019. So if you are interested in Damian or any of the other farmers, now is the time to get your letters in before 30 May. You can find out more on the kykNET website.
