Eliminated ‘The Bachelor SA’ contestant, Xia Narain says there just wasn’t any chemistry between her and Marc Buckner

‘You can’t force these type of things.’

We are in the midst of The Bachelor SA drama, which means that we have to say goodbye to our faves. On Thursday, Xia Narain and Tegan Edwards were eliminated and we had a chance to speak to them.

Since being eliminated from The Bachelor SA, Xia modelled for Burberry at London Fashion Week, closing the show. About the amazing opportunity, she said, ‘Unbelievable, my life literally changed in a split second.’

When asked how it felt going through the experience again while watching it on TV, Xia said, ‘It felt strange, it brought back all the feelings I had when I was waiting to hopefully get a rose and didn’t, but overall, I feel happy, to watch how happy I looked even though I was leaving.’

Of course, we had to ask about the uncomfortable situation where Jess R interrupted Xia’s time with Marc, when she barely had a second to chat to him. She said she didn’t think she was slighted, ‘we all had to fight for his attention and Jess was just doing what she needed to do to get some time with him.’

However, in the end, she didn’t think that there was any chemistry between her and Marc, which was the greater reason why things just didn’t work out. ‘As much as I wanted there to be chemistry between us, there wasn’t and you can’t force these type of things.’ She doesn’t have any hard feelings towards Marc though, ‘I still think he’s a good person with a kind soul, the only difference is that now I don’t see him as anything more than just someone I met once.’

With regards to the Purple Room vs. Pink Room vs. Red Room drama, Xia said she wasn’t really involved (she was in the Pink Room) but it began with Bridget moving from the Purple Room, (‘they were all quite strong personalities who could easily be misunderstood’) to the Pink Room and the animosity grew from there.

On the show, it was revealed (to the other women’s shock) that Xia had never been taken out on a date before. And when we enquired if it has happened since filming, she said, ‘unfortunately not’ so we hope that her Prince Charming is out there, and ready to sweep her off her feet.

Lastly, we asked Xia if she could play matchmaker for Marc, which of the girls still left in the mansion would she pick for him? And she said, ‘I would pick the first impression recipient, Silke because I see chemistry there.’
