When Trevor Noah announced at the Global Citizen Festival that Sho Mdjozi would be the next artist to step on stage, the crowd went crazy. She then opened her performance with the Black Panther hit, Wakanda Forever. Her performance was so magical and powerful that people were begging her to perform one more song, Huku. Without a doubt, she was one of the best performers of the day and it comes as no surprise why everyone was impressed.

BLACK GIRLS ROCK is such a beautiful show. Had a fun time presenting to one of my favorite people. Tune in to BET on September 9 to experience the great work of BGR Founder @djbeverlybond and the terrific BET team who make the ceremony possible. And to see the honoree that I presented to give a speech that tore the roof off the place! Love to @adamburrell who painted me and @best_loctician who nourished my hair and @jasonbolden for making sure I had something sparkly to wear. And remember.. Black Girls Really Do Rock. Like for real. xo
Her Xi-Tsonga inspired tunes definitely got the crowd going while leaving a strong energy within the audience. We definitely cannot wait to get our hands on her upcoming album Limpopo Champions league to liven up our summer with her beats.
And to prove that everyone was purely impressed, big shot American director Ava DuVernay went to her Twitter to tell the world that, ‘Sho Madjozi was one of the highlights of my trip to South Africa.’
