Your varsity experience should be 100% fun from the moment you arrive to graduation day. The lectures and essays are just one tiny part of campus years – there are many awesome moments just waiting to be lived. If you’re not totally feeling it, you may need to #colourup with these simple steps.
Make more time for besties. Studying is important, obvs, but if you’re neglecting Netflix/ice cream sleepovers with the girls in favour of all-nighters in the library, you’ll probably start to feel less than awesome. Manage your time wisely so you have your evenings free for face-to-face catch-ups. (That WhatsApp group chat doesn’t count.)
Get involved in extracurriculars. We know, you’re already swamped, but there are SO many fun things to do on campus that you probably didn’t even know existed. There are societies for pretty much every niche interest and hobby you can think of, so find your fellow Harry Potter obsessives and BOND.
Go day-tripping. We can’t all afford fancy holidays but a little time away from digs always makes things feel fresher. Grab your BF or best friends and go on day trips at the weekend. The beach is always awesome – but a drive out to a quiet rural area can also help you recharge your lecture-worn batteries.
Start cruising in a VW up! A cute city car like the VW up! is ideal for varsity – it’s compact enough to zoom around city streets while being spacious enough on the inside to drive your besties around, comfortable to drive for newbies and super-stylish. Choose your fave look from the wide selection of glossy shades and #colourup your drive to campus.
Start your world-famous blog. Got a passion for beauty and fashion, or tons of interesting stuff to say that everyone needs to hear? Start a blog and start keeping the world up to date. Did you know that successful bloggers get free stuff sent to them, and can even get paid for their work? Just sayin’.
Become a culinary genius. Or just, you know, a relatively decent cook. If you’re tired of two-minute noodles and cheese toasties and need to add some extra fun to your varsity experience, get in the kitchen and start playing with your food. There are tons of awesome food sites full of recipes and foodie inspiration – give them a try and you may surprise yourself.
Give back. There are some very cool volunteering opportunities out there that could #colourup your life without costing you a cent. Best of all, you’ll be doing something good for the world around you. From helping out in your local animal rescue centre to volunteering in an orphanage, there are many ways to give back.
Develop a healthy hobby. It’s easy to get caught in a cycle of junk food, late nights and bad habits while you’re studying, but you can easily turn things around and find a healthy new hobby. If joining a gym is outside of your budget, try a couch to 5K programme and chase that runner’s high.
