Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, a large portion of the South African workforce have gone into full isolation mode. This means that more and more of us are working remotely and have to connect with our teams via conference calls rather than in the potentially-disease-ridden flesh. And while these types of group chats used to be over the phone (leaving you free to pull *alllll* the faces)…
… these days – thanks to uber-modern technology – we are able to have video chats with our co-workers instead. One popular program for this Zoom. And they are about to become even more popular, because they have a sneaky Zoom filter that can spruce you up so that you look professional, even from your home office/bed.
A lot of people who are working from home in an attempt to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in SA. This means more time at home, more time in pajamas, and less time worrying about your appearance. But now it doesn’t matter if your locks are overdue for a wash or your face is blotchy, because conferencing-call software Zoom has a feature that can make you look more polished when you are in group video chats with your team. Genius!
So how do you activate this flattering feature? Open the program and click on ‘Video Settings’ on the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Then check the box that says ‘Touch Up My Appearance‘. This will give a softening filter-effect to your skin and minimise the appearance of imperfections. While just at the moment Zoom can’t make it look as though you are wearing a business suit rather than your pjs, we’re sure that the developers are working on it and it’s just a matter of time. I’ll just be here waiting.
Will you try out the Zoom filter?
