We all already know that when the Victoria’s Secret models hit the runway it won’t be in bold eyeshadow or lipstick. This year the makeup artist behind the beauty look was the magnificent Charlotte Tilbury.
She looked to an OG Victoria’s Secret model Gisele Bündchen as inspiration for the makeup. ‘She embodies that signature fresh, glowing angel gorgeousness. I also wanted the makeup [to] channel that Victoria’s Secret feeling!’, said Tilbury.
The signature beauty look for Victoria’s Secret show is always: glowy skin, heaps of bronzer and sexy lipgloss. When the angels walked the runway last night their complexions were radiant, healthy and naturally flawless as if the models ‘woke up like this.’
Tilbury made sure that all 60 models looked camera-ready and sun-kissed. She first started out by prepping the skin with a hydrating moisturiser then prepping the skin with a light-reflective primer and applying a sheer and dewy foundation. #SkinGoals.
On the cheeks, Tilbury and her team went in with bronzer to create that healthy glow. While on the lips Tilbury coated each model with a high-shine gloss, topping it off with a peachy lipstick.
Just like how natural-looking the makeup was last night, the same can be said about the hair. Celebrity hairstylist Anthony Turner wanted to keep the hair as natural as possible.
The focus on the hair for the night was to keep it looking natural and real while still maintaining that healthy texture. ‘We’re not using any brushes—we’re just tossing around the hair with our hands as we blow dry it to help the hair look somewhat separated, which emphasizes the natural look we want to achieve,’ Turner added.
