You know that making sure your beauty tools are cleaned on the regular is really important, right? Well, you do now! Leaving them festering in your makeup bag between uses to breed germs and bacteria is a surefire way to make sure you get a breakout, at best. At worst? Possibly an infection. While most people clean their brushes and sponges by hand, a new gadget has entered the market that promises to make this chore easier. A washing machine for your beauty gadgets. And it looks like something out of Barbie’s Dream House.
Toy or Tool?
When influencer Tiffany Lynette Davis wanted to buy a model washing machine for her dollhouse (apparently some adults have them too) and received this cute pink appliance, she saw an opportunity. An opportunity to spend less time cleaning her tools, because she could simply pop them inside this effective little gadget.
After her followers saw just what this teeny-tiny machine was capable of, they all decided that they needed one too. Probably to place next to their recently-acquired skincare fridges on their vanities. Hey, it’s in the aesthetics!
At the end of the day, though, Davis does not recommend that people use this mini machine daily, or even at all. ‘Like I said, this is a toy,’ she explains. ‘This is not a beauty blender or makeup-sponge washer.’ Duly noted.
This doesn’t mean, however, that the people of the beauty community aren’t dying to get their hands on one of these babies. They are even now being marketed by online sellers as being designed for cleaning makeup sponges rather than just being a child’s plaything, which will probably have them laughing all the way to the bank.
While this baby washing machine might not be a good replacement for a hands-on wash and scrub, they will definitely keep you entertained. At least for the first few cycles.
Want to invest in a mini washing machine? Now you can, and it will only set you back R170!
