Local Celebs Who Fully Embrace the Makeup-Free Selfie

Nice and natural.

Most celebs spend a lot of time (and money 💰💰💰) on looking their best. And this practice generally involves a glam squad – or at least some very high-end beauty buys – to maintain. This is fine, we all want to look flawless 24/7, but there’s just something about the makeup-free selfie that we love, especially when it’s posted by a famous face. It reminds us that at the end of the day, we’re all the same and can’t be plastered in products ALL the time. Our skin’s gotta breathe, y’all!

Makeup, Schmakeup

Our local celebs love a good face beat as much as the rest of us, but some of them are more willing than others to share what they look like when they’re chillaxing. One of them is the formidable Pearl Thusi. Sure, she may be genetically blessed and not really need makeup, having started her career as a pageant girl, but we still love catching a glimpse of her looking fresh-faced.

Ugh, if only we looked that good sans beauty products and filters.

Another celeb who is not afraid to show off her real self on the ‘Gram is Lockdown actress Zola Nombona. While she always turns up the heat on the red carpet, she also likes to keep it low-key, which is evident from a pic she posted looking flawless AF even without makeup.

The host of Project Runway South Africa, Lerato Kganyago, is also partial to the occasional bare-faced picture.

If we looked this good waking up, we probably wouldn’t even own any makeup, TBH. (Actually, we probably would, because what even is life without beauty spoils?).

TV personality Ntando Duma is also not shy when it comes to posting pics of her face in its natural state.
