Beauty How-To: Create Blurred Matte Lips

The only type of blurred lines you need πŸ’‹

One of the beauty trends that is passing through our social media feeds and gracing international catwalks RN is the blurred-lipstick trend. If done subtly, this look can have some serious impact.

And while some people get a bit carried away…

…lips on this level are safer left on the pages of fashion mags.

But if you are looking for an easy, everyday take on this hot beauty trend, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s get started.

1. First Base

To make sure that your chosen lip colour makes a bold statement, first use foundation not just on your face but on your lips as well. This will create a blank canvas and even out the tone so that your lipstick shade really pops.

2. Magic Formula

While you can achieve this look using a glossy lipstick as well, for a matte look you obviously need to use a matte formula. Apply it to the top and bottom lips, leaving a small space at the top where you’re going to blend the edges outwards.

3. Finishing Touch

Using a small makeup brush, gently buff the colour outward so that the line around your lips is blurred. You can bring it slightly over the edge of your lips as well if you are feeling particularly brave.

And who said achieving high-end beauty looks had to be hard work?
