Thigh-high boots (THBs) can look terrible if worn or styled the wrong way, but that shouldn’t stop you from wearing one of this winter’s biggest must-haves. Here are a few tips on how to wear them and how NOT to wear them.
DO wear them with a long trench coat. How wonderful does Miranda Kerr look in this knit dress and THBs?
DO go for Jourdan Dunn’s off-duty-model look in these lace-up THBs and leather skirt.
DO do it like Natasha Ndlovu and create a bohemian look with a printed tassel bag.
DON’T wear THBs like Queen Bey did here. The dress is short and tight, and the whole outfit looks like a costume for a show. Perfect for Bey, not so perfect for brunch at Tashas.
DON’T do it like Rita Ora did. When you’re wearing THBs, let them be the hero item of your outfit. The shiny jacket with faux-fur trim, red glasses and statement athleisure dress all compete with the boots – it’s better to complement them subtly.

DONT do it like Jessie J did at the Elle Style Awards in 2014 – her look is too busy. Plain boots would have been a more chic option.
