When you’re not a girl/ not yet a woman things can get pretty confusing. Here are the reasons a quarter-life crisis is nothing to roll your eyes at. It’s hard, you guys!
1. Relationships are suddenly terrifying. So, I’m either gonna waste my twenties on a relationship that’s going to end in another break-up and I’ll have to start from scratch, or I’m going to marry this person…? Wait, what?
2. People start asking Those Questions. You know, the terrible ones. ‘Are you still in that job?’ ‘When are you two getting married?’ ‘How many kids do you want?’ Brb getting in my rocket, see you never.

3. You go back and forth between wanting to build your career and your desire to see the world. What if you get this job and you’re stuck there forever? But also, what if you spend a few years travelling and get totally left behind? WHAT IS THE LEAST WORST?
4. You can’t stop cringing when you think about the type of person you were just a few years ago. Ughhhh, you really sucked. Your poor mom.
5. Doing certain adult things makes you feel like you’re having a nervous breakdown. You’re slowly realising how little was actually explained to you when you were at school.
6. You wonder at least 3895 times a day if you’re doing the right thing. Regular existential crises are just part of the gig.

7. You’re still trying to come to terms with the friendships you’ve lost. All those people you thought would be your BFFs 4eva? Yip, most of them have upped and left.
8. You want to go back in time and kick younger you for being so desperate to grow up. YOU HAVE THE BEST LIFE EVER, CHILD, CAN’T YOU SEE? SAVOUR IT, YOU YOUNG FOOL.
9. Jealously is inevitable. Some people in your life really seem to Have It All. And these people, even if they aren’t the worst, seem like the worst.
10. You often wonder if you’re too old for this. When did everyone in da club start looking 12 years younger than you? You feel so much more comfortable when you’re watching movies at home tbh.

11. You still haven’t fully come to terms with the fact that the nineties were, in fact, 26 years ago. Or that people born in 2000 are 16 and probably in the club with you…
12. You start to care about all the mundane things you never really thought about before. Like keeping your home clean. And making sure you don’t run out of toilet paper. And finding the perfect box wine.
13. Your regular routine of your expenses being more than your income is actually dawning on you as A Real Problem. It’s becoming harder to ignore that feeling of guilt every time you swipe your card.
